Day 1: Sandakan / Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre / Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre / Sukau Rainforest Lodge

Upon arrival at Sandakan Airport, we’ll whisk you to the remarkable Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Here, you’ll delve into the plight of these fascinating creatures through an informative video presentation, followed by a mesmerizing walk through the rainforest to witness the orangutans’ feeding at 10:00hrs. Experience the heartwarming scenes at the newly completed enclosed nursery area for young orangutans. 

Then, journey to the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about the conservation efforts for the world’s smallest bear. 

Following this, embark on an approximately 2-hour overland journey to the renowned Sukau Rainforest Lodge, renowned for its multiple awards. 

Dive into an afternoon river cruise, navigating through the waterways in search of wildlife and birds, with the boat equipped with a hybrid system of outboard and electric motors.

Enjoy a candlelit dinner overlooking the riverbank, followed by an engaging slide presentation and interpretation by our knowledgeable naturalist guide.

Spend the night at Sukau Rainforest Lodge in either a Superior Room or Borneo Villa.

Day 2: Kinabatangan River / Hornbill Boardwalk / Orang Utan Talk / River Cruise

Rise early for a morning river cruise along the Kinabatangan River at 06:00hrs, heading to Kelenanap oxbow lake for a chance to spot diverse birds and wildlife. 

After breakfast, join our in-house naturalist for an educational tour along the lodge’s Hornbill Boardwalk. 

Later, participate in our Orang Utan Talk activity before lunch. 

In the afternoon, embark on another river cruise to encounter more of the region’s abundant wildlife. 

Retreat for the night at Sukau Rainforest Lodge.

Day 3: Return to Sandakan / Rainforest Discovery Centre / Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort

After breakfast, embark on a boat or overland journey back to Sandakan.

Enjoy lunch before visiting the Rainforest Discovery Centre – where you’ll enjoy a bird’s-eye view from the canopy walk and hanging bridge – and explore the botanical garden showcasing diverse flora species.

Later, transfer to Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort or similar accommodation. Check-in and enjoy the remainder of your day at leisure.

Day 4: Sandakan PSR Jetty / Lankayan Island Dive Resort

Check out from Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort and transfer to Sandakan PSR Jetty via a scenic 30-minute drive. 

Continue your journey to Lankayan Island by speedboat, offering breathtaking ocean views over approximately 90 minutes. 

Check-in at Lankayan Island Dive Resort and savour the rest of your day at leisure.

Day 5: Lankayan Island Dive Resort

The day is yours!  Enjoy the day at leisure, unwinding amidst the breathtaking natural beauty of Lankayan Island.

Indulge in various activities such as swimming, snorkelling, and ocean kayaking.

Day 6: Check Out / Sandakan Airport

After breakfast, bid farewell to Lankayan Island as you check out and board a boat transfer to the jetty.

From there, continue with an overland transfer to Sandakan Airport, marking the end of your memorable adventure.
