Day 1: Arrive Sandakan, Borneo

Upon arrival into Sandakan airport (SDK) you will be met by our tour representative and transferred to Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort. The remainder of the day is at your own leisure. On arrival, check-in, unwind, and relax for the rest of the day in the pool and the beautiful natural surroundings of the resort.

Day 2: Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre ~ Sun Bear Conservation Centre ~ Rainforest Discovery Centre

Good morning we will start the day by visiting Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in time for the morning feeding and learn about the conservation and rehabilitation efforts of Sepilok. Witness the majestic orangutan swing through the forest towards the feeding platform and watch as these beautiful creatures enjoy their breakfast.

Afterwards we make a visit to see the World’s smallest bear in their natural habitat at the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre.

Enjoy lunch back at the resort and relax in the resorts pool and tropical surroundings until 3pm when we will visit Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC) to explore the virgin and protected 1^st class forest in Borneo.

Return to Resort by 5pm, refresh yourself and guest is at leisure until dinner time at 7pm.

Day 3: Sepilok ~ Selingan “Turtle” Island

After breakfast (8:30am) we transfer to the Sandakan Jetty and board the boat to Selingan Island (10:00am). The trip takes around 50 minutes and on arrival you will check in and enjoy free time to explore this beautiful quiet island, relax on the decking or take a stroll along the long stretch of sandy beach, or enjoy the afternoon for swimming & snorkelling (extra hire cost). At 6:00pm there will be a briefing about the turtle’s conservation program, followed by a visit to the hatchery and an opportunity to release baby turtles back to the Sulu Sea. Have dinner and watch a documentary, then, a waiting game for the ranger call for the mother turtle sighting. If we are lucky enough, we will witness mother turtles coming to shore to lay their eggs in the sand.

OVERNIGHT: Selingan Island Resort

Day 4: Selingan Island ~ War Memorial Park~ Bilit, Kinabantangan River

Early start at 8:00am we head back to the mainland. Once back in Sandakan proceed to Sandakan War Memorial Park before heading overland to our Bilit Adventure Lodge on the banks of the Kinabatangan River. On arrival into Bilit we have a spot of lunch before jumping on our first wildlife boat cruise down the river. Keep your eyes peeled for wild orangutans, Proboscis monkeys, Pygmy Elephants and lots of exotic birdlife! Evening free at leisure or take an optional guided night jungle walk to spot the nocturnal wildlife.

OPTIONAL: Night Jungle Walk RM10 per hour

Day 5: Bilit ~Kinabatangan River Cruises

Early morning start as we cruise along the Kinabatangan River at 6:00am in search for more wild and wonderful wildlife, then back to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast we visit a local village and take part in a tree planting activity to do our part for the conservation of the jungle. Then we take a guided jungle walk through riverine forest and search for bird life. Trek back to Bilit Lodge, freshen up, have lunch and enjoy the second river cruise of the day in search for more wildlife. Spend the evening at leisure enjoying a cold drink and sharing your photos from the day with fellow travelers.

Day 6: Bilit ~ Sandakan

After breakfast, we depart Bilit by 8:30am and return to Sandakan – Sabah Hotel. Have lunch in the hotel and enjoy the afternoon.

 At 4:00pm, we depart to Fisherman’s Village & Firefly River Cruise with Dinner + Cultural Dances)

Day 7: Sandakan Free Day or Optional Day Tour

Enjoy a full day in Sandakan today to explore the city at your own pace or simply relax in the hotel grounds and pool. Alternatively, you can take an optional full day tour to Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, followed by Sandakan City Tour

Day 8: End of Tour ~ Departure

After breakfast and check out you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight home. Unfortunately, your holiday to Borneo has come to an end, unless you decided to stay longer with an optional extension!
