ABOUT THE RESORT
A jewel like tiny island in the Sulu Sea, an hour and a half boat rides north of Sandakan; Lankayan has been declared part of an immense Marine Protected Area to adopt the eco-tourism concept. Unpopulated and covered by thick tropical island vegetation on its topside, this peaceful, untouched little bit of paradise is ringed by an endless pure of white sandy beach, offering simply elegant and exquisite accommodation in all 23 wooden, roomy and perfectly appointed seafront chalets. While the ideal destination for those who search for tranquility and relaxation in a virgin natural setting and for families with children, Lankayan Island is also becoming one of the hottest diving destination on the map today: its dive sites – all just a few minutes away – boasting unbelievable colorful macro, fauna, fascinating wrecks and in season from March to May, regular sightings of gigantic and harmless whale sharks, the “dream date ” of every diver in the world. The island is also a nesting site for green and hawksbill turtles. You can watch as the baby turtles are released back into the sea.

FACILITIES
Despite the remoteness we are proud to offer all the amenities of a tropical island resort. Visitors have a choice to stay in chalets twin or triple sharing basis. Made out of local wooden materials to blend into the natural surroundings, chalets and standard rooms are attached with private balcony overlooking the white sandy beach and turquoise colored ocean. Lankayan chalets are well appointed and equipped with hot bath, coffee and tea making facilities, mini refrigerator and fresh water from mainland. Power is available with 220 V or 110 V. All chalets offer direct access to the beach which is in fact just at your front door step.
Internet access is also available at the resort’s main building which opens daily from 0800hrs to 2300hrs. Internet Service Charges are at MYR 15 for 30 minutes for desktop in the office and MYR 20 per day for own laptop (wireless).
A TV room is available for viewing the day’s video shots or other footages shoot during the dive.
Water sport gears and equipments for diving, snorkeling and ocean kayaking activities are available for rental at the dive centre
NOTE: A small over the counter shop that sells souvenirs such as postcards, T-shirts, and other necessities such as film, batteries, and toiletries is integrated at the central open building.
MEAL
Meals are informally served at the central open building, which boasts an amazingly beautiful open-air wooden terrace surrounded by swaying casuarinas, the ideal spot for after dinner relaxation and chatting, all the while admiring the dozens of juvenile black tip sharks swimming leisurely a few feet beneath. Occasionally, head out to the sunset bar for an evening get together BBQ while enjoying the panoramic view of the sun surrendering for the day.

ABOUT DIVING IN LANKAYAN
Described as a true macro-world paradise, there are also larger marine creatures such as leopard sharks, marbled stingray and giant grouper as well as schools of bumphead parrotfish, yellowtail barracuda and scads. Lankayan Island is also a nesting site for green and hawksbill turtles as Turtle Islands Park are nearby. You can watch as the baby turtles are released back into the sea. The availability of jungle interior and interesting diving attracts both divers and non-divers alike to Lankayan.
Day 1: Sandakan PSR Jetty / Lankayan Island Dive Resort
Meet and transfer to Sandakan PSR Jetty. Journey takes approximately 30 minutes drive. Transfer to Lankayan Island by speedboat. Boat ride takes approximately 90 minutes.
Lunch / Dinner Lankayan Island Dive Resort
Day 2: Lankayan Dive Center
- Diver will have 3 boat fives daily and unlimited house reef dive in-front of Lankayan Dive Centre (not guided, please find own buddy to dive with). Strictly No fly policy within 24 hours after the last dive.
- Non-Diver will be free at leisure for the whole stay. Other activities available: Swimming, Snorkeling & Ocean Kayaking.

Day 3: Check Out
After breakfast, check-out from Lankayan and boat transfer to jetty followed by overland transfer to Sandakan Airport.

- All reservation MUST provide the following information: Name as per passport, Passport Number, NRIC (for MALAYSIAN ONLY), Nationality, Gender, Date of Birth, Medical & Flight details, and at least 1 Emergency contact information of friend or relative.

- Package Excludes: Diving equipments & gears, beverages, laundry, room service, airfares and item not mentioned or specified in the packages
- Extension Stay: Extension Night Stay is permitted subject to the accommodation availability
- Full payment is required 30 days prior to commencement of services. If full payment is not received by the due date, your reservation will be cancelled and full deposit will be retained by the Resort.
- After commencement of service, no refund, in part or full, will be given for services included in the package which have not been utilized
- Weather conditions: We cannot predict the weather conditions these days for scuba diving even for the best season
- Infant, Pregnant Woman and Senior Citizens (above 80 years old) are not allowed by boat to Lankayan Resort.
- Amazing Borneo and Lankayan Dive Resort will not be held liable for any delay, additional expenses of inconvenience which may be caused by directly or indirectly by events outside of the company control, such as late arrival of domestic or international flights, civil disturbances, fire, floods, unusually sever weather, act of God, act of Government, or the failure of any machinery or equipment and property whilst staying at the resort, of during participation of any activity. In the unlikely event that the dive trip is cancelled due to bad weather, rough and dangerous sea conditions, a natural disaster, an act of God, war, political unrest, a danger to passengers, or the boat, then the resort has the right to cancel or delay the departure. The resort withholds the rights to change the planned itinerary, leave for jetty early or change the schedule.
- Amazing Borneo and Lankayan Dive Resort will not be held responsible, or in any way liable, for property losses, personal losses, accidents, injury, or death for any reason whatsoever, wheter through any activities booked through us, or caused to you by third parties. All guest will be required to read and sign the company Standard Liability Form and other related forms at the resort upon arrival and check-in.
- We recommend that if you intend to go scuba diving, make sure you have an insurance policy that covers this activity. We strongly recommend that all guests take out adequate travel insurance covers accident, loss caused by cancellations, loss of luggage, personal property, medical expenses, medical evacuation and weather disruption / cancellations (including activity cancellations). Guests intending on participating in diving activities must ensure their insurance covers them for SCUBA related activities and has appropriate ‘depth’ coverage.
- Please check you have the required travel documents before booking your dive trip. Ensure that your passport has at least 6 months validity from your time of entry into Malaysia.
- Last but not least, tipping is like giving a hug. Although it’s never expected, it’s always very much appreciated

Notes:
- All prices quoted above are in Ringgit Malaysia (RM) and EXCLUDES of TTX (Tourism Tax) – RM 10.00 per room per night (payable to the Royal Malaysian Customs Department) –implemented since 1st Sept 2017.
- Allocation of room is based on RUN OF HOUSE (ROH) basis. (Choosing of room by room number will not be entertained).
- Honeymoon/Simple decoration (setting on arrival day only) in the chalet is chargeable at RM180.00 per setting (excludes SST 6%).
- Combining Diver Package (D) and Non-Diver Package (ND) is not allowed (divers have to decide between Diver package (D) OR Non-Diver package (ND) throughout their stay).
- To purchase Diver Package (D), one must be a certified/licensed diver.
- No pregnant women are allowed by boat to LANKAYAN Resort.
- No dive allowed within 24 hours prior to departure flight time.

- Group Travel Option – ONE (1) pax FREE for every NINE (9) paying pax (ALL MUST ADULT) (Subjected to same arrival and departure flight and time, FOC pax subjected to SIMCA FEE and SST)
- 5% off from the package rate for sharing 3 adults in a chalet.
- 50% off from the Non-Dive Package (ND) rate for non-diver child from 2 to below 12 yrs.
- Infant 24 months and below is chargeable at RM300.00 per person excludes SST 6%.
- Junior Diver (Child Diver) rate is based on Diver Package (D) rate.
