In the lower Kinabatangan, the key bird is the storm’s stork which is listed on the endanger species in the birdlife international. Other birds include the illusive Bornean Ground Cuckoo; Borneo has 8 Species of Hornbills and all 8 species are found in Kinabatangan. For nocturnal species, good chance for the large frogmouth and the oriental bay owl.
*Birders will have their own boats and will be separated with General Wildlife Cruise.
Day 1: Arrival at Respective Lodge
Morning, pick up from Hotel/Airport/Sepilok and Travel overland to the Village of Bilit in the Lower Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary. Travel time about 2 hours. Upon arrival at the Village of Bilit, take a 15 minutes boat ride to Respective lodge. Check into room.
The guide will brief the guests on the activity and birding request in the afternoon. Prepare for Lunch at 1.30pm. At 4.00pm the 1st boat cruise starts for bird watching until nightfall. Return to lodge by 6.00pm.Time to refresh. Dinner will be serving at 7.30pm. After Dinner guest is at leisure. Stay overnight at Respective lodge
Day 2: Birding in Kinabatangan
Morning and afternoon river cruise for bird watching. Stay Overnight at Respective lodge. (Optional night cruise/night walk)
Day 3: Birding in Kinabatangan
Morning and afternoon river cruise for bird watching. Stay Overnight at Respective lodge. (Optional night cruise/night walk)
Day 4: Birding in Kinabatangan
Morning and afternoon river cruise for bird watching. Stay Overnight at Respective lodge. (Optional night cruise/night walk)
Day 5: Departure from Kinabatangan
Pending on your schedule, we might arrange another morning cruise for birding .Check out at 10.00am and transfer back to Sandakan.

* Guests are encouraged to do their own research and advise us birds that you wish to see. Briefing will be done upon arrival at Respective lodge on their first day.
