About The Location

• Timba Timba Islandis covered with soft, pure white sand. Apart from being known for its wonderful beach, it is also a great place to look for rarer macro marine life that includes cuttlefish, frog fish, crab and occasionally nurse sharks. While turtles can be seen in numbers, other frequent sightings include blue ribbon eels, moray eels, lobster and barracudas.
• Mataking Island is home to the first ‘Underwater Post Office’ in Malaysia, also known as the ‘Shipwrek Post’, and is connected to Pulau Mataking Kecil (Small Mataking Island) via a narrow sand bank. House reefs surround the whole island where you can easily snorkel or dive. During the months of May to August, you may be lucky enough to spot Hawksbill and green turtles laying their eggs on the beach.

• Meet up at Semporna Jetty. 
• Hop on a speedboat and proceed to the first island, Timba Timba Island. 
• Gear up and attend to a short safety briefing before snorkeling or diving. Enjoy your first snorkeling or diving session. 
• Proceed to next island, Mataking Island.  
• Mataking Island is considered one of the best islands around Semporna for snorkeling and diving! For snorkelers, gear up for your second snorkeling session to enjoy the reefs.  For divers, get your mail ready, put them in a sealed waterproof vacuum bag, and post it from Malaysia’s first underwater Post Office to surprise your friends & families.  
• After two sessions of snorkeling or diving, enjoy a simple packed lunch. 
• After lunch, head back to Semporna Jetty.

Things you should know

• Boat journey to the island(s) may not be suitable for individuals who have any of the following conditions but not limited to: heart or lung conditions, recent surgery, back or spinal surgery, back problems/injury/fracture, arthritis, osteoporosis or other similar spinal/pelvic diseases.
• Pregnant women are also not recommended as the boat ride may be bumpy depending on the sea condition. If you are having similar issues as above, kindly consult your physician before you enrol in this activity.
• Please do not bring valuables as there are no lockers on the islands.
• Be a Responsible Snorkeler / Diver:
  • If we deem your diving / snorkeling skills or attitude may bring harm to marine life or other guests, the crew has the right to stop you from participating in the activity.
  • It is strictly prohibited to remove, pick up, step on, or destroy any marine life during the trip.
  • Do not snorkel or dive separately from the group and follow the crew’s instructions. Failure to do so will result in the crew stopping you from participating in the activity and no refunds will be made.

• You will be responsible for obtaining your own visas to enter Sabah.

• You are strongly recommended to have your own personal travel insurance while traveling, to ensure a peace of mind.

• Your belongings may get wet. You can bring along waterproof bags such as dry bags or plastic bags to keep your belongings nice and dry.
• Before going out for some fun in the sun, you may bring along some environmental-friendly SPF50 sunscreen and an umbrella to shield you from the sun.
